The event will take place on Monday, 3 July 2017, alongside the Latin American Meeting of e-Science and TICAL, and its registration is free. As usual, this ION also has generous support from our ION Conference Series Sponsor Afilias.

ION Costa Rica will have a half-day program to cover topics such as IPv6, DNSSEC, Securing BGP and TLS for Applications. In charge of the discussions will be experts such as Kevin Meynell (What’s Happening at the IETF? Internet Standards and How to Get Involved), Fred Baker (IPv6: Where are we in 2017?) and Guillermo Cicileo (Setting the Scene: IPv6 Deployment in Costa Rica and Latin America), all from Internet Society.

According to Christian O'Flaherty, director of development of ISOC in Latin America and the Caribbean, the event lets network operators stay ahead of the curve to understand and deploy emerging Internet technologies. “ION presents a unique opportunity to discuss the future of the Internet with the people who help craft it”, says. “More than a simple lecture series, ION events provide hands-on interaction with our speakers so you walk away with the answers you need to deploy new standards and technologies on your own networks”.

The registration for the meeting is done by registering at the TICAL Conference marking the ION preference to participate. It has no additional costs. For more information on the event, its program and panelists, visit http://www.internetsociety.org/deploy360/ion/costarica2017/
